A theme symposium on “Innovation Promoted by Intellectual Property and Jilin’s Rejuvenation Accelerated by Technologically Transformed Achievements” was held at the Chamber of Commerce building in Changchun on April 23, 2019. In total, 130 students from Jilin International Studies University (JISU) attended.

The on-site symposium

The symposium was sponsored by the Jilin Province Intellectual Property Office and the Management Committee of Jingyue High-Tech Industrial Development Zone in Changchun and undertaken by several enterprises including Jilin Tianbangjinghua Intellectual Property Service Co., Changchun Zhongbangjinghua Intellectual Property Agency Limited., and Jilin Jinghua Innovation Service Co. It was co-organized by Beijing Xiangcheng Technological Limited Co., Patentgo Tech-transfer Platform Co., and Alibaba Cloud Innovation Center, Changchun Branch.

The event had two parts. The first part was a keynote speech delivered by Liu Haibo, a doctoral supervisor and researcher working with Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), entitled “Reflection on Innovation and Technological Transfer in Current International Conditions”. He gave a detailed description of present-day innovation all over the world in order to comprehensively introduce fundamental rules regarding the transfer of technology.

The second part was an address given by Huang Xiangcheng, Secretary-General in the Tus Star Coaching Team, entitled “Updated Innovation & Entrepreneurship Fueled by Intellectual Property through the Perspective of Investment.” He earned great applauses as he shared his insightful thoughts on innovation & entrepreneurship and intellectual property against the backdrop of the present economy and the high-caliber improvement of innovation & entrepreneurship by investing in intellectual property.

The participating students responded very positively to the symposium. Freshman Yang Feiyu, majoring in accounting, noted, “It is a great pleasure to come. I have learned a lot on Intellectual Property and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.” Sophomore Yang Jiaying, majoring in marketing, added, “Our knowledge regarding business start-ups has been greatly expanded due to his well-thought out examples, analyses of state policies, and expert advice which has helped form a completely new vision of entrepreneurships for college and university students.
