President Qin He attended the launching ceremony of “Cultivating Outstanding Talents in Six Fields, and Top Students in Basic Disciplines” Project 2.0 in Tianjin, which was jointly convened by the Ministry of Education, the Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs under the CCCPC, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Health Commission, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Forestry and Grassland Administration, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and China Association for Science and Technology on April 29^th.

The conference emphasized the study and implementation of “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” and the full implementation of the spirit of the National Education Conference. It also noted that in accordance withThe Implementing Plan to Accelerate Educational Modernization (2018-2022), the project for cultivating outstanding talents in engineering, medicine, agriculture and forestry, education, legislation, and news media was to be thoroughly carried out. Additionally, it acknowledged the push toward greater efforts to develop disciplines of engineering, medicine, agriculture and arts. The project is aimed to launch a “Quality Evolution” in Chinese colleges and universities and lay a solid foundation for building the standard of “Good-quality Education in China” in every field of higher education, thus effectively revitalizing undergraduate education.
