The final for undergraduates of the 2018 All-China Super Anchorperson & Announcer Contest recently concluded in Nanjing City. As a first-year student in Jilin International Studies University (JISU), Li Yuxuan, majoring in Broadcasting and Anchoring, won the Bronze Prize. JISU was given the “Excellent Organizer” award and Qiu Ju was given the “Excellent Mentor” award as well.

The Contest, sponsored by Jiangsu Broadcast Corporation (JISC), is a major competition for Broadcasting and Anchor student. Approximately 10,000 participants attended the 2018 Contest for undergraduates, jointly co-organized by the sponsor and hundreds of specialized institutions. 160 contestants entered the final to compete with a variety of selections. Fortunately, Li obtained high praise from judges present, benefiting from her solid, professional knowledge and extraordinary impromptu performances.

Li greatly learnt from this competition. She said, “Thanks to the mentorship and support from teachers and JISU, I am pleased to attend the Contest. I am grateful for the hard-won opportunity to learn from nationwide participating elites. The valuable lessons will motivate me to go forward in future.”

The Broadcasting and Anchor Major, under the education vision of “Profession plus Foreign Languages” Training Modes, was established in 2018. It aims to realize an organic integration among fundamental theoretical knowledge, professional know-how and English instruction. It is designed to create a widespread practice platform for improving students’ professional abilities through major-related contests and internships. Li’s participation this time greatly stands the test of the teaching achievement for the Major at JISU and offers a great example for students at the university who continue to increase in ability and achievement.
