On the morning of April 2nd, the welcome ceremony for the delegation of 2019 Thailand-Chinese Language Culture Education Foundation was held in the Chinese Village which is in the Global Village, an international language and culture teaching center at JISU. Sixty-seven teachers and students from middle and primary schools in Thailand had a 13-day visit to JISU to learn the Chinese language and experience its culture.
On behalf of President Qin He, Vice President Wang Jie delivered a welcome speech for the arrival of the delegation. He noted that JISU attached great importance to their visit and hoped that students and teachers from China and Thailand could strengthen cross-cultural relationships, promote cooperation in conducting important research, and support friendly exchange between Jilin Province and Thailand. It’s also his hope that the delegation would make good use of this visit to experience the Chinese lifestyle and culture by actively participating in activities of all kinds, and better understand the differences and similarities between China and Thailand in education as well as our common pursuits.
Ge Xinxin, Deputy Dean of the School of International Exchange, gave a speech on behalf of teachers at JISU in which she expressed willingness and determination to serve and teach with utmost enthusiasm, strengthen communication between the two countries, and facilitate cultural exchanges.
Zhou Qi, a representative of teachers from Thailand, thought highly of the university’s mission “All is for students to be integrated, skilled and successful” and the idea of providing the most responsible and student-oriented education. She also gave credit to the impressive education system and teaching environment that JISU has created. She also expressed her earnest wish that students from Thailand could learn Chinese with great interest and appreciate the unique charm of Chinese culture.
An overseas student studying at JISU, Yue Liang from Kyrgyzstan who is also a recipient of the Chinese Government Scholarship, hoped in her speech that Thai students from afar could improve their Chinese and experience Chinese culture just like her. She hopes they will have a strong bond with JISU and China in the future.
Overall, this event was of great importance for promoting exchange and cooperation with schools from Thailand, accelerating internationalized school management, and expanding the international influence of JISU.
