An exchange activity, “Winter Olympics in Beijing, Skiing Events in Jilin,” was held between JISU Students and American Students in a Skiing Contest in Changbai Mountains Protection Zone on March 24. Led by Zuo Jingjiang, Director of P. E. Department of JISU, fifteen athletes from the track and field team participated in the event. After fierce competition, Yang Zhanfei won the 13th place in the Women's Race and Gu Xingchao the 14th place in the Men's Race.

Ten students from JISU provided voluntary service for this event, involving on-spot interpretation and coordination. Their service won good review from both the event organizers and athletes.

In order to participate in this event, the team members had to return to the university from their homes on February 14th and participated in the training guided by Zuo Jingjiang. It was widely considered a precious opportunity of practice that had not only tested the level of skiing competition but also enhanced communication and friendship between Chinese and American youths.
