On the afternoon of March 14th, 2018, the Award Ceremony for Volunteers was held in the Multifunctional Lecture Hall at JISU. Miao Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of JISU and Director of Student Affairs Division, delivered a speech. Li Mingli, Deputy Secretary of Youth League Committee of JISU, and other heads of the Student Affairs Office and secretaries of the Youth League Committee of all schools also attended the ceremony.

After careful appraisal and selection, the prizes went to He Jiarui and five other students titled as “Role Model of Volunteer.” Wang Yinan and another 44 students were given the title of “Outstanding Volunteer.” TheHua Yi Xing Huo Voluntary Teaching teamand another six teams were given the title of “Top Volunteer Service Team.” Ding Boyang and another four students were rated as “Four-star Volunteer.” Xie Liqian and another two students were rated as “Five-star Volunteer.” Xu Xiaowei and another four people were rated as “Instructor of Outstanding Volunteer Service.” Wu Shuo and another 110 students were titled as “Outstanding Volunteer of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala (Changchun Sub-venue).” Fan Mengnan, a teacher, and another 10 students were awarded the “Special Contribution Award”.

Xie Liqian, a member of theHua Yi Xing Huo Voluntary Teaching team, and a student majoring in pre-school education from Class 1601 in the School of Education, together with Wu Shuo, a student from Class 1601 in the School of International Business Administration, gave speeches and shared their experiences in the volunteer service on behalf of these outstanding teams and volunteers. Meanwhile, they both expressed their lifelong pursuit of JISU’s spirit toward public benefit with firm determination.

Miao Jing gave a brief summary of the volunteer service in 2018. In her speech, she put forward three requirements for volunteers. First of all, volunteer service is to be bonded with campus culture and morality. Second, the “Youth Volunteers Federation of JISU” is to be a brand of JISU. Last, volunteer service should carry forward Chinese spirit and national power.

She also pointed out that in the year 2019, at a crucial time when JISU endeavors to build a high-level university, volunteers of all kinds, the backbone volunteers and organizations that sent volunteers, will be further trained and cultivated to promote research, development and the upgrading of the volunteer service programs, to lay a solid foundation of the theoretical knowledge of volunteer service. We aim to build up the national influence of the Training Center of Volunteers, Exchange Center of International Youth Volunteers, and the Research Center of Volunteer Theory.
