On November 13, 2018, Alistair McCosh, Director of Warrnambool campus of the Deakin University in Austria, paid a visit to Jilin Huaqiao University of Foreign Languages (HQUFL). Director McCosh was welcomed by personnel of HQUFL led by Wang Jie, Assistant President and Director of International Exchanges and Cooperation.

The two universities conducted a seminar on many subjects, including mutual exchanges of students, mutual visits of teachers, and joint cooperative research, etc. Mr. Alistair McCosh expressed that the Warrnambool campus encouraged the prominent students in HQUFL to proactively apply for its Presidential Scholarship （two-year Tuition-Waive and 25% relief of Accommodation）, and the campus would like to initiate a combined program of Bachelor and Master majoring Education via a short or long period of Student Exchange with HQUFL.

Mr. Alistair McCosh visited the library, the International Exchanges Center, and other teaching facilities here. He highly praised the educational notion-“Everything goes for the cultivation of students” and “Develop the students-centered Education”-persistently pursued by HQUFL.

The Deakin University was established in 1974, rated 29th in World University Rankings issued by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) across all universities within less-than-50 years of establishment history. Its discipline of Sports Science is ranked No.1 worldwide and Education top 28 in 2017 QS World Discipline Ranking.

HQUFL signed an agreement with the Deakin University in November, 2015. This visit will contribute to developing the mutual friendship, result in expanding the cooperation of HQUFL with other high-level universities in Austria, and lay a firm foundation for the internationalized education here.
