The 4th National "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students in 2018 concluded at Xiamen University on October 15. Sun Chunlan, a member of the political bureau of the CPC central committee and vice-premier of the State Council, attended the closing ceremony. Li Haoran, a junior from the school of International Business Management, Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Languages Institute, won the bronze award for his "Duoduo Baby Safety Education" Project.

The 4th National "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students was officially launched in China in April this year. 44,203 students from 58 colleges and universities in Jilin Province registered more than 9,000 projects and participated in this competition. After the campus-wide contest and the provincial rematch, 150 provincial-level projects stood out, among which 50 won provincial gold prize and 18 were selected for the national competition. Finally,25 projects from Huawai made it into the provincial rematch, among which 2 won gold prize, 1 won silver and 6 won bronze.

In the past four years, 2,980 students with 777 projects from Huawai have participated in the competition, creating a platform for improving students' innovation and entrepreneurship abilities.

Li Haoran said, "The most important thing I learned from this competition is what entrepreneurship really is. Entrepreneurs are not the people who own the vast majority of wealth, or the people who manipulate numerals like zeros and ones. They are the people who change the world.”

"The Competition serves an important carrier where national innovation and entrepreneurship education will be promoted," said Xiao Bei, dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Innovation and entrepreneurship education is a methodology that helps people find opportunities, integrate resources, and do things well. The criterion for success of start-up education is to improve people's abilities and comprehension. I hope that the students of Huawai will strengthen their minds with firm ideals and beliefs in the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship, and build up strength for the rejuvenation of our nation.”
