The School of International Business, established in 2005, currently covers two major disciplines: economics and management, offering seven undergraduate programs: International Economics and Trade, Finance, E-Commerce, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Financial Technology. The school also runs a Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate program in Finance with New Jersey City University in the United States. The school holds three professional degree authorization points: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of International Business (MIB), and Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc). It is also responsible for cultivating professional degree graduate students in the field of Vocational and Technical Education (Finance and Commerce: E-Commerce) under the Master of Education program.
The school boasts a faculty team composed of full-time, part-time, Chinese and foreign teachers who are distinguished by their high ethical standards, strong professional competence, robust research capabilities, and rich practical experience. The team includes 72 full-time faculty members with 19 professors, 19 associate professors, 37 dual-qualified teachers, 52 individuals with doctoral degrees or currently pursuing doctoral studies, and 21 teachers with overseas study experience. The faculty includes 2 provincial-level Master Teachers, 1 recipient of the Jilin Provincial Outstanding Contribution Award for Young and Middle-Aged Professionals, 1 provincial-level rising-star teacher, and 2 members of the Provincial Professional Teaching Guidance Committee.
Through years of development, the school has established its own educational advantages and distinctive features. It boasts three provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction projects in International Economics and Trade, Marketing, and Finance, along with three provincial-level first-class courses and one provincial-level teaching achievement award. In recent years, its faculty members have led or participated in over 100 research projects, published more than 300 academic papers, received over 30 research awards, and published more than 30 textbooks and academic works. The school has established several high-level teaching and research platforms, including the Jilin Provincial Case Teaching and Research Base for Economics and Management, and the Northeast Asia Enterprise Cooperation and Innovation Development Research Center.
The school is committed to cultivating high-quality, applied, interdisciplinary, and internationally oriented business talent. Leveraging JISU’s strengths in foreign language teaching and international exchange and cooperation, it adopts a “major + foreign language” talent cultivation model. Supported by a faculty with international backgrounds, the school employs various teaching methods such as bilingual instruction and case-based teaching. It not only emphasizes the development of students’ theoretical knowledge and professional skills but also focuses on enhancing their foreign language proficiency and innovative capabilities, strengthening multilingual learning and innovation and entrepreneurship practices in a global context.
The school adheres to the educational philosophy of fostering virtue through education, emphasizing the comprehensive development of students’ knowledge, abilities, and character. Under the guidance of professional faculty, its students have consistently achieved outstanding results in national and provincial-level professional competitions. Many students have been honored with titles such as National College Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Role Model, Jilin Provincial Outstanding College Student, and Jilin Provincial Outstanding Volunteer. The school has now graduated 18 cohorts of students, who work in various large and medium-sized enterprises, foreign-related companies or multinational corporations, financial and insurance institutions, and government departments. The number of graduates pursuing postgraduate studies or studying abroad continues to increase each year. Graduates are highly praised by employers for their solid professional foundation, strong foreign language proficiency and practical skills, as well as their innovative thinking and emphasis on teamwork.
