The School of Education, established in 2016, offers three undergraduate programs: Preschool Education, Education, and Primary Education. Among these, the Education and Preschool Education programs are recognized as provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction projects in Jilin Province. Additionally, the school offers a second degree in Education and a micro-program in Preschool English Education. The school holds the authority to grant first-level discipline master degrees in Education, with four specializations: Curriculum and Instruction Theory, Preschool Education, Higher Education, and Education (Educational Economics and Management). It also has the authority to grant professional master degrees in Education, covering four areas: Educational Administration, Preschool Education, Primary Education, and Mental Health Education. The Teacher Education Professional Cluster is recognized as a provincial-level demonstration cluster for applied transformation in Jilin Province. The course “Principles of Education” is rated as a national-level first-class undergraduate course, a provincial-level first-class undergraduate course, and one of the first curriculum ideology and politics demonstration courses in Jilin Province. The course “Educational Research Methods” is one of the first provincial-level exemplary graduate courses in Jilin Province. The school has strong disciplinary capabilities. The first-level discipline of Education is a high-level specialty in Jilin Province, and the professional doctorate in Education is a newly approved doctoral degree authorization construction project in Jilin Province. The school also hosts six provincial-level research platforms, including the Jilin Provincial Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences, the “Private Higher Education Research Center,” highlighting its robust research capabilities.
The school boasts a distinguished team of experts and scholars with strong capabilities, high ethical standards, and professional excellence. Led by President Qin He and supported by renowned experts and scholars, the faculty, composed of Chinese and foreign teachers, enjoys a prestigious reputation both domestically and internationally. The school currently has 41 faculty members, including 17 professors (1 first-level professor and 3 second-level professors), accounting for 41%. Among them, 29 hold doctoral degrees, representing 71%. There are 9 doctoral supervisors and 25 supervisors for master degree students. The faculty includes 1 National People’s Congress representative, 4 recipients of the State Council Special Allowance, 1 National Education Inspector, 1 member of the National Higher Education Institution Evaluation Committee, and 1 member of the Ministry of Education’s Undergraduate Teaching Evaluation Expert Committee. Many faculty members have been honored with titles such as National March 8th Red Banner Holder, China’s Top Ten Women, National May 1st Labor Medal holder, Provincial Senior Expert, Provincial Top-notch Innovative Talent, Provincial Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent, Provincial Master Teacher, and Provincial Outstanding Educator. Several faculty members also hold positions as standing council members of national and provincial academic societies. The “Education Teaching Team,” led by President Qin He, was awarded the title of “Huang Danian-style Teaching Team”(the first batch) in Jilin Province. The teaching team and faculty members for Principles of Education have been recognized as provincial-level curriculum ideology and politics demonstration teams and Master Teachers. The Principles of Education teaching team has been named an outstanding grassroots organization in Jilin Province. In recent years, its faculty members have undertaken nearly 70 national and provincial-level research projects, published nearly 50 high-level papers in CSSCI-indexed journals, and submitted 8 advisory reports approved by provincial and higher-level leaders. They have also received more than 10 awards for outstanding achievements in social sciences and educational research in Jilin Province.
The School of Education aims for excellence and consistently adheres to the educational philosophy of “student-centeredness, providing the most responsible education.” It actively explores the “major + foreign language + artificial intelligence” talent cultivation model, fulfilling the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. The school implements projects for outstanding teachers, teaching, and talent, forming distinctive educational characteristics that integrate “moral and intellectual development, interdisciplinary learning, theory and practice, academic and creative pursuits, and major and minor studies.” The quality of talent cultivation has significantly improved, with many graduates admitted to master’s and doctoral programs at domestic and international universities. The pass rate for teaching certification and the employment rate of its graduates rank among the top in similar programs at comparable institutions within the province. Its graduates enjoy high employment quality and a strong reputation, earning praise from employers for being “caring, dedicated, well-rounded, skilled, practical, quick learners, and high performers.”
