JISU Holds Commendation Ceremony and Cultural Gala in Celebration of the 41st Teachers’ Day

On the afternoon of September 10, JISU held commendation ceremony and cultural gala in celebration of the 41st Teachers’ Day at Shiqiao Building. President Qin He, alongside the university’s leadership, extended heartfelt gratitude to all faculty and staff for their dedication.

The event themed by “Over 30 Years of Glory, JISU towards Brighter Future with Teachers” was held by Shen Yongdong, the secretary of university Party Committee. Miao Jing, deputy secretary of the University Party Committee announced the “Decision on Commending Advanced Collectives and Outstanding Individuals for the 2024-2025 Academic Year,” with President Qin and other school leaders presenting awards, bonuses and prizes to the recipients.

The past year marked the conclusion of the university’s comprehensive implementation of the “14th Five-Year Plan.” The faculty and staff have upheld the schooling philosophy of “Everything is done for students’ growth, achievement and success” and the educational philosophy of “Operate school under supreme obligation with students as a center,” embraced a pioneering spirit for new phrase characterized by innovation, pragmatism, dedication, and efficiency, upheld a rigorous, precise, meticulous, and results-driven work ethic and advanced the “Six High Grounds” initiative, yielding a series of remarkable achievements. A total of 21 advanced collectives and 133 outstanding individuals were recognized for their significant contributions in areas like talent cultivation, discipline development, scientific research, international exchange, team building, and 37 teachers along with 1collective who achieved outstanding results and earned provincial-level awards on teaching innovation, academic competitions, research development and talent development.

President Qin also presented certificates and commemorative gifts to 19 faculty and staff marking 10 and 20 years of service, encouraging them to sustain their proactive dedication for greater success in the new phrase of JISU’s growth.

Following the awards ceremony, students from home and abroad conveyed their most unique holiday blessings to the teachers in 21 languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, German, French, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, Mongolian, Indonesian, Persian, Polish, Czech, Thai, Serbian, Hungarian, Greek, and Malay.

Students and faculty presented 16 meticulously prepared performances, ranging from dances, songs to poetry recitals showcasing the teachers love to education, the university, and the students, and the staff’s heartfelt gratitude to the institution and their unwavering dedication to education.

Held against the pivotal backdrop of the university’s 30th anniversary and the collective drive for a “pioneering spirit for new phrase” to build a high-profile foreign studies university with salient feature, the event resonated deeply with all faculty and staff. They expressed a strengthened resolve to embrace their sacred duty of fostering virtue and shaping character. United under the leadership of President Qin He, everyone is committed to the Party and the nation’s mission of nurturing talent. By staying true to the original educational aspiration, living up to the expectations of students, parents, and society, and actively implementing the university’s philosophy, the entire faculty pledges to dedicate themselves to their posts with professionalism and innovation. With determination to break new ground in new phrase, they will strive for excellence, contributing all efforts toward the shared vision of building JISU into a leading non-profit, application-oriented and high-profile foreign language university.
