Recently, the results of the advanced stage of the international student division in the 5th “Tell China Stories in English”contest were announced. Students from Jilin International Studies University (JISU) won three second prizes and four third prizes.
The second prize winners include: Fan Jinxing and Ruan Shituo, 2024 master’s students in International Chinese Education, and Chen Han, a 2022 undergraduate in Tourism Management. The third prize winners are: Chen Dehui and Ruan Shi Yunying, 2024 master’s students in International Chinese Education; Do Thi Xuan Tam, a 2022 undergraduate in Tourism Management; and Bai Xuande, an advanced-level 2025 student in Chinese Language. Faculty members Zhong Hua and Hou Na from the School of International Media were awarded Outstanding Instructor prizes.
The competition attracted 4,366 participants from 269 universities across China, open to both international students in China and overseas. Contestants showcased their Chinese proficiency and storytelling through recitations, speeches, dramatic monologues, and traditional Chinese performances, fostering cultural exchange between China and the world.
JISU placed high importance on the event, assigning expert instructors to provide in-depth guidance and ensure high-quality performances. Moving forward, the university will continue to promote the philosophy of “enhancing learning and teaching through competitions” by organizing and participating in high-level international contests. This initiative aims to cultivate more global talents and contribute to sharing China’s stories and spreading Chinese culture worldwide.
