On May 25th, the signing ceremony between Jilin International Studies University (JISU) and the University of Portsmouth (UOP), UK, was held at the International Exchange Center. President Qin He attended the meeting and signed an educational cooperation agreement with Zeng Jiancheng, Executive Vice-Chancellor of the UOP. This marks the second collaboration between the two universities following their initial agreement in 2023. Building upon existing programs on exchange student and dual degree, the partnership will now expand to include dual master’s degree programs and integrated bachelor’s-master’s programs.

Cooperative Talks Between JISU and UOP
During the talks, both parties focused discussions on future collaboration, jointly expressing their commitment to deepen cooperation in programs including faculty exchanges, curriculum co-development, and student co-cultivation. They agreed to establish interdisciplinary research platforms in fields such as applied language technology, while introducing modular curricula from UOP to JISU and developing language data laboratories.
Zeng and his delegation also visited the Global Village (Multicultural Education Center), the library, and the International Exchange Center. They spoke highly of JISU’s efforts in creating an internationalized environment for teaching and learning. Zeng stated that this visit would serve as an opportunity to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two universities, so as to advance educational development and foster more high-caliber, application- and innovation-oriented talents with global perspectives.
