On September24,the 10th Congress of the Jilin Province Student Union was held.Gao Gangbing,Deputy Secretary of Jilin Province Party Committee, and other leaders attended this congress and awarded prizesto the“Top Ten University Students”of in Jilin Province in 2019.JISU’s Student,Su Kewei,received this distinguished award.

As a student oftheclassof2016who ismajoring in tourism management of International Institute of Business Administration, Su Kewei has been activelyvolunteering and has atotal of more than 2000servicehoursand more thanfiftypublic service activities under the spirit of public welfare duringhis time at JISU. In 2013, he establishedtheVolunteer Association of Middle School Students andtheVolunteer Association of UniversityStudents.The Volunteer Association of University Students hasattracted students from more thanfiftyuniversities and colleges to participate in his philanthropicactivities. His story was reported by Xinhua News Agency, China Civilization Network and other media.

In 2017, hethoughtfullyexplored the appropriate combination of tourism personnel training and voluntary service. Five national programsled bySuwere selected intotheNational Culture and Tourism Volunteer Service Action Plan. Some of the projects included were the10,000 Tourism Talents Program, Sanxiaxiang (a program under which officials, doctors, scientists and college students go to the countryside to spreadknowledgeabout science, literacy,andalsooffersmedical servicesto farmers),and a program calledCollege StudentsforInnovation and Entrepreneurship. Moreover, some programs were also selected as key scientific research projects of Jilin Province Higher Education and a key practice team of the Marxist Self-study Organization Alliance of Jilin Province.

In 2019, he wasrecognized in many ways and was named a“GoodPerson of Jilin”,a“Changchun Youth Pioneer in New Era”,a“Top Ten University Studentof Changchun City”,a“StarofSelf-ImprovementAmong JilinCollegeStudents”,and a“StarofSelf-ImprovementAmong ChineseCollegeStudents”,and several more distinguished titles.

In addition, Ding Boyang, a JISUstudent of School of English Language was awarded asone of the“Top 100 University Students”.

Theses awardsarea full demonstration of JISU's achievements in education and a full expression of our school's adherence to public welfare education for many years. JISUistraining college students to actively participate in volunteer service and contribute to the society. It is a greatmotivationto stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning and improve their comprehensive qualityof their surroundings.
