JISU is fully committed to the construction of “scientific research highland”, focusing on the fields of country and region, international communication, mutual understanding of civilizations, rule of law in foreign affairs, international organizations, Northeast China’s revitalization and Jilin’s opening up to the outside world, and has carried out a series of forward-looking and strategic interdisciplinary cross-disciplinary research. In the past ten years, the university has been granted 406 high-level projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, and 11 projects at the national level; it has undertaken more than 120 horizontal projects; it has been granted 20 high-level scientific research institutes, such as the Key Academic Research Bases of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education of China, and the Philosophical and Social Science Research Bases of Jilin Province. JISU has published over 5,000 academic papers (327 high-level papers) and 700 books, won 55 provincial and municipal awards, and provided more than 60 decision-making consulting reports for the national and local governments, of which 2 consulting reports have been approved by the central government. It has initially built a high-level scientific research system that is relative to the national strategic needs and the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin Province, and matches the development orientation of the university.
