JISU takes the construction of high-level disciplines as the lead, promotes the construction of “1+N” foreign-related large language discipline cluster, and builds a discipline ecosystem with coordinated development of “Literature, Economics, Management, Education, Art, Law and Engineering” with the “advantageous and characteristic disciplines leading, key cultivation disciplines driven by synergistic efforts, emerging cross-discipline sharing and linkage, and international co-built disciplines innovation and interaction”.

From 2017 to 2024, JISU has realized three leaps from “B” to “A” to “A+” in the level of construction of doctoral degree-granting units. Up to now, JISU has 18 disciplinary platforms above the provincial and ministerial levels, 2 provincial university innovation teams, 2 provincial advantageous and characteristic disciplines, 1 discipline of “China’s Top 100 Competitiveness of International and Regional Studies Disciplines”, and 5 provincial characteristic and high-level disciplines (groups) construction projects, and the total number of master's degree authorization points, their levels and categories rank the first among domestic private universities.
