Students in JISU Win Awards in The First Liaoning Translation Contest

Recently, the results were announced for The First Liaoning Translation Contest. Eleven students of JISU won awards, among which 1 student received the second prize, 3 the third prizes, and 7 the excellence awards. JISU also bore the Best Organization Award.

The contest was jointly held by the Liaoning Provincial Translation Society and Yiguoyimin Translation Service Co., Ltd.,. Officially launched on September 21st, 2020, it received a total of 5,132 translated texts from 620 universities and colleges and some members of society both at home and abroad within three months from among 8,353 participants.

Organized carefully by the School of English and School of Oriental Languages, Zhang Yexin and Ye Jingyi, students from grade 2020 majoring in Japanese Interpretation, won the second and the third prize in the translation from Chinese to Japanese respectively. Li Jiayin, an English (Translation) major from class 1803, got the third prize in the translation from English to Chinese. Li Yawei, an English (Translation) major from class 1803, won the third prize in the translation from Chinese to English. Huo Liuhan, an English (Translation) major from class 1902, Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhong Lingyu, two English (Translation) major from class 1803 and Yang Heyun, an English (Translation) major from class 1802, all acquired the excellence awards in the translation from English to Chinese. And Ye Ziyi and Chen Xiao, two English (Translation) major from class 1803 and Xie Yujie, an English (Translation) major from class 1901, got excellence awards in the translation from Chinese to English.

This contest created opportunities for the students on cultivation of translation capabilities and improvement of a comprehensive set of translation skills. The awards-winning students all showed that they would cherish each opportunity of practice and training to exercise professional abilities and perfect comprehensive qualities.
