JISU Wins Awards in University Library Reading Promotion Case Show 2020

Recently, the Library Society of China delivered the results of the “University Library Reading Promotion Case Show 2020 ”. JISU won the bronze award by virtue of the case “Finding Reading Promoters-From Outstanding Student Readers to Reading Promoters” .

The “2020 University Library Reading Promotion Case Show Activity” was sponsored by the Reading Promotion Committee, affiliated with the Library Society of China and jointly undertaken by the Inner Mongolia University Library and the Wuhan University Library. Since its launch in May, 2020, it has received 276 case works from 133 colleges and universities within China. On the principles of fairness and openness, 9 experts from domestic reading promotion field implemented researches, discussions, exploration and rounds of selections on all works through preliminary assessment, re-evaluation, final evaluation, reconsideration, and acknowledgement. Eventually, they appraised and selected 10 cases of gold awards, 20 silver awards, 30 bronze awards, and 60 innovative awards.

JISU’s library workers conducted the practical plan of “Finding Reading Promoters” from 2018 in order to tackle the trouble that resulted from the lack of reading promoters. In line with the annual reading data from the Huiwen library system, 15%-17.6% of brilliant students readers were selected as promoters annually on the basis of the “Four Steps Methods”— Choose excellent student readers, find a reading promotion candidate, identify reading promoters, and initiate school-wide reading-sharing activities. Considering the practical situation in 2018 and 2019, it is referential and sustainable to discover reading promoters from wonderful student readers and the satisfying reading-sharing effect is viewed as one of the most effective ways to make up the lack of promoters for university libraries.
