Advanced Training Program for Snow and Ice Tourism Talents in Jilin Province Launched in JISU

On the morning of October 12, the advanced training program with the theme of “Prosperity of Ice and Snow Tourism Industry for the Winter Olympics” sponsored by Jilin Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and undertaken by JISU (Jilin International Studies University), was officially launched in JISU. Seventy professors from non-government institutions and universities involved in snow and ice tourism took part in the program.

Jin Zhenlin, the Commissioner of the Resource Development branch, affiliated to Jilin Province Department of Culture and Tourism, Liu Yuping, the Manager of China Tourism Newspaper in Jilin Province, and Chen Chunsheng, Secretary General of Provincial Chamber of Commerce for Culture and Enterprises attended the ceremony.  Liao Anyong, the Assistant to the President of JISU, delivered a speech. Considering the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2022, and committed to the philosophy of “The Natural Resources of Ice and Snow are Invaluable Assets” originated from the Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Jin Zhenlin conducted a special report on the “Analysis of Growth and Vision for the Assets of Ice and Snow in Jilin”. It detailed the process of its prosperity now and showed clearly the energy-conservation and environment-friendly ways of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).

Since 2015, JISU has hosted a number of training programs: Voluntary Chinese Teachers Training launched by the Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters), the National Foreign Affairs Translation Workshop, the Training for Trainers for Translation and Interpreting, National/Provincial Training Program for Primary and Secondary School Teachers implemented by the Education Department of Jilin Province as well as “Advanced Workshops for Talents with Expertise and Technology” carried out by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jilin Province. Covering foreign language skills, primary education, and professional and technological training, these projects have attracted about 2,600 teachers and students within 22-session activities so far. These projects efficiently inject the fresh blood mentally and intelligently for the national development, foreign exchanges and local economic growth. In 2019, JISU was recognized as “Further Education University in Jilin Province” by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jilin Province.

  The five-day training program held activities such as themed lectures, seminars and enterprise investigation. It paid great attention to the prosperity of ice and snow tourism, operations and management of snowfield in winter, the design of creative cultural products, exploration of research and study courses for natural tourism, and event-planning measures for festivals and celebrations. It is hoped that the training program can improve the professional ability and quality of ice and snow tourism talents, and ultimately promote the development of the ice and snow tourism industry in Jilin Province.
