Recently, the “Jilin International Institute for Strategic Research” was officially established in JISU. It is committed to providing intellectual support for opening Jilin to the outside world, promoting international strategic decisions and improving the international image of Jilin. It will integrate resources of the whole campus, and conduct all-around countermeasure studies on economic development in terms of international exchanges, economic policies, industrial dynamics, cultural communication, image shaping, etc., in order to become an international strategic think tank to help realize the revitalization of Jilin province.
The Jilin International Institute for Strategic Research will combine cooperative keys including political communication, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade, financing, and people-to-people bond, with international environment and international strategies of related countries. In the course of establishing Jilin as northern essential window of “the Belt and Road Initiative” and promoting its building, the institute carries out researches focusing on studies of different countries and regions in northeast Asia, friendly city-to-city exchanges and inter-provincial internationalization in northeast of China.
The Jilin International Institute for Strategic Research is built on JISU’s advantages and characteristics of a training base for application-oriented high-quality international foreign language-using and foreign affairs talents in Jilin Province, the most diverse languages studies universities in northeast China, and an international multilingual culture and education center. It will give full play to the advantages of the university in accordance with its overall requirements of ten-year strategy planning and the building of application-oriented high-level university. The institute will make contributions to the goal of opening Jilin to the outside world while promoting the construction and development of “International Exchange Highland” in JISU.
