On September 24th, a “Pay for You” book donation activity, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and the Changchun Municipal Party Committee, was held in the World Bridge Building of JISU. 550 students bought books with a 100-yuan book-purchasing card given by the Xinhua Bookstore (Changchun), and 750 students took part in the reading-online activity with a 100-yuan electronic reading card.

Piao Shuang, a Mongolian Language major student from class 1701, purchased some books she was interested in including career suggestions. She said, “the activity brought me warmth, and I was surrounded by knowledge and concerns from JISU and the community. Now that graduation is approaching, I hope to gain more knowledge and skills about employment to fully prepare for my job.” Gan Hongqin, an English and Japanese Bilingual Language major from class 1801, bought several of her favorite Chinese and foreign literature masterpieces along with psychological books. She said, “I am grateful for JISU to build this book-purchasing platform to inspire us to read more and to read well.”

With the aim of student-financing, student-cultivating, and campus-building with humane and education environment progress, JISU has organized the activity for three consecutive years. Under the guidance of its idea of being “student-centered and providing the most responsible education”, JISU offers thoughtful service with students at its core to ensure that students can get corresponding help as soon as possible. JISU is working further on the student funding system to realize the goal of “preventing dropouts due to family financial difficulties” by increasing the proportion and number of scholarships and stipends year by year. Also JISU will add more favorable programs, expand the coverage of findings, and set up a special fund for emergencies. Meanwhile, JISU is committed to create a campus with a humane and educational environment by constructing the library integrating modernization, informatization, ecologicalization, with internationalization, to build a high-quality reading atmosphere and implement wonderful reading activities. All these measures are open to students to inspire their passion of learning and reading, to develop good reading habits, and to provide a comfortable and productive study-atmosphere.
