On the afternoon of June 19, Ambassador Li Ruiyu was invited by President Qin He to hold an online Ambassador Forum with the topic: Fifty Years of Sino-Italy Diplomatic Relations. He talks about the 50th anniversary of the bilateral relations between China and Italy in detail for more than one-hundred Italian teachers and students.

Li Ruiyu, who has served as the former Director of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Denmark,the Republic of Italy and to the Republic of San Marino, is currently a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

In the forum, Li Ruiyu introduced the history, culture, economic development and technology of Italy, and described in detail while he also showed an analysis of the characteristics and current status of the friendly bilateral relations during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy.He vividly displayed the close exchanges between China and Italy for the students through his experience of participating in Sino-Italian cooperation.

After the report, Ambassador Li Ruiyu had an online interaction with students for nearly an hour, and gave detailed answers to the issues of Sino-Italian bilateral relations and Italian language learning which seemed to be a topic of interest for participating students.The students commented that the report was vivid, profound and intriguing, and the online interaction was more targeted, intimate and popular. Students also found that China and Italy cooperate sincerely and benefit each other. As students major in Italian, they should study professional curriculum to improve their abilities, paying attention to understand the development of China and Italy, to grasp the pulse of the times, and to set the stage for future celebrations of cooperation between China and Italy.
