On the afternoon of June 19, the Jilin Provincial Women’s Federation (WF) held a meeting with WF cadres at the county level. Qin He, a representative of the National People’s Congress and vice-chairman of the Provincial Women’s Federation, served as the keynote speaker. Li Xiaoying, the Provincial Women’s Federation Chairman and Party Secretary, presided over the meeting and made specific requirements for learning and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech and the spirit of the two sessions. At the main venue, the attendees included members of the Party Leadership Group of Provincial Women’s Federation, the part-time deputy chairmen in Changchun, and heads of various departments and affiliated institutions. All the party members and leaders of the Women’s Federation at the municipal and county levels simultaneously watched the lecture through a cloud platform, the Tencent QQ classroom.

President Qin He deeply analyzed the work reports of the government, of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress and of the Supreme People’s Court, and of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate from three aspects: the overview of the two sessions, its main spirit, and the implementation of the spirit. She fully explained the process of preparation and deliberation of Draft Civil Code and Draft Decision Concerning Hong Kong, and put forward some insights and suggestions. The lecture by President Qin features an incisive summary, explaining in a clear and simple language. Thus, the participants have deepened their understanding and grasp of the Two Sessions’ spirit.

The majority of the Women’s Federation leaders agreed that they have strengthened their understanding of political theories through this meeting, and that it is of great significance to hold Four Consciousnesses, and Four Confidences firmly, and resolutely achieve the Two Maintenances. These leading ladies of the federation should allow the federation to use the full extent of the functions of the Federation, and contribute to final-phase of poverty alleviation and building of a well-off society on the basis of strengthening women’s ideological and political guidance.
