Recently, the Communist Youth League Commission of Changbai Korean Autonomous County awarded the first group of excellent people during the epidemic period. Zhang Jiawei, Class 1901 from the Korean Department of JISU was awarded as one of the “Twenty Excellent College Student Volunteers”. JISU received a thank you letter from the Communist Youth League Commission of the Changbai Korean Autonomous County.

During the epidemic period, Zhang Jiawei actively responded to the call for workers and rushed into the front line of the infected area of Baishan City. Without fear of hardship, terrible weather and risks, she was working in the checking station of a community to contribute towards the health and safety of all citizens, presenting the quality of responsibility at a youthful age.

Zhang Jiawei said that from learning and growing-up at JISU she knew that youth should participate in voluntary activities to make contributions to society. She said, “Through this epidemic, I feel how the Party and our country cope with major accidental matters and how people unite as one throughout the country, all of which inspired me to learn hard lessons for my country. As college students, we should shoulder the responsibility and mission to participate in voluntary activities by making more contributions to our country and society, striving to be a new youth to take the task during this era.”
