On February 28, President Qin He attended the teleconference held by Jilin Provincial Education Department with an aim to coordinate the work on the prevention and control of the epidemic, as well as teaching in this field. After the meeting, President Qin He promptly passed on the details of the conference and immediately assigned specific work to related departments at several meetings.

At the meeting regarding the JISU exchange students in South Korea, President Qin He, after listening to some related reports, highlighted the following three points.

First, we should be able to establish “one to one communication with our students, keeping track of their health condition and providing specific instructions accordingly.  Second, we should strengthen communication with our cooperative schools in South Korea to learn about the schools’ arrangements for the new semester and the students’ study. Third, we should equip the students with the common sense of epidemic prevention and control, and provide expert psychological counseling guidance, ensuring the completion of their study and communication.

At the meeting about graduates’ employment, President Qin He reemphasized that our goal is to minimize the impact of the epidemic on the graduates’ employment and help their employment proceed as smoothly as possible. JISU will take full advantage of online platforms in order to offer services such as online recruitment, mutual selection through video, and online employment guidance so as to help graduates achieve high-quality employment.

At the meeting about teaching, President Qin He instructed that multiple departments including the Academic Affairs Office, Teaching Quality Evaluation and Teaching Development Center should make preparations for online teaching. She also requested that these departments intensify supervision and instruction to ensure high-quality teaching so that the regular teaching plan is followed as usual.

As for resuming classes, President Qin He emphasized that it is vital to elaborate the emergency response plans in terms of “off-peak returning” and “medical protection after returning” in accordance with the principle of “working out measures to suit specific circumstances.” In addition, she pointed out that it is equally important to continue to perfect the communication process, step up the school hospital construction, improve the medical material reserve and set up the isolation zone. It is also indispensable to strengthen medical protection knowledge training for relevant personnel and equip our students with safety protection knowledge on their way back to school, ensuring that all are safe and sound.

Moreover, President Qin He gave some specific advice regarding closed management on campus, health screening and on-duty mechanism on the part of managerial personnel. She also emphasized that JISU will maintain the educational philosophy of “Be student-oriented and spare no effort on education” and implement the instructions of the conference to ensure campus stability and encourage the health and safety of the staff and students.
