“Adjust the Vacation Homework and Start Online Teaching” JISU Tries Its Best to Prevent and Control the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia
Feb 1, 2020 10:14 AM   News Center

In order to earnestly implement requirements and exemplify the spirit of the Central Committee, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Department of Education on Epidemic Prevention and to control the novel coronavirus pneumonia, JISU carefully adjusted the vacation homework and started online teaching to ensure students are studying hard at home during this special period of time.

Student Affairs changed the winter social practice homework from a “social research report” into a “reading report”. The students are encouraged to learn more during the vacation under the task of writing reading reports based on fifty books recommended by JISU. When the winter vacation is over, each college at JISU will award students who wrote outstanding reports.

In line with the principle of “the momentary closure of the universities, but continuing to learn,” through Chaoxing app and Zhihuishu app and other online methods, the Academic Affairs Office requires all teaching units to reasonably adjust online teaching tasks before the reopening according to the teaching plan, teachers’ condition and other information. It also requires all teachers to start, prepare and record lessons in advance. Teaching and Q&A time ensure students learn each course for full credit.

Besides, the MOOC part of general elective courses can be learned on Zhihuishu app and “Shuxia” app for independent online learning while the offline parts are temporarily closed. The teaching work of professional theory courses is realized through the online teaching platform of Chaoxing, which has "one platform and three ends". Teachers organize students to study online by recording quick lessons or live broadcasting. Students can carry out online attendance, homework, exams and various course learning tasks with mobile phone or computer using the "Chaoxing" app.

At present, all classes have set up an "online study support group for epidemic prevention and control", and the teachers of each class have joined in the QQ group and WeChat group of the class. Under the leadership of the class, each group conducts online study according to the learning tasks assigned by the class teachers.

All the students said that they would study together and encourage each other, especially giving extra care to the students from Hubei province, to win the war on epidemic prevention.
